The consequence of exchanging the glory of God for images made by men

Romans 1:23-27

They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

When we worship someone or something other than God, we're exchanging the glory due to God for things made by human hands.

When we're worshipping these things/images made by men, we're perverting the truth that there is one God.

We are not living the truth, rather we're practicing the lie that what we made are our gods!

The consequence of diverting away from the truth, and practicing the lie is that there comes a perversion.
Worshipping someone or something other than God is a perversion, and the fruit of that perversion is a perversion of our natural relation among ourselves, namely, one of them being "sex."

The apostle Paul writes that one of the fruits of our perverted worship of images was that our idea about sex became perverted. Men began to practice homosexuality and women likewise practiced homosexuality.

Lie begets lies. Perversion begets perversion. Perversion of true worship begot perversion of sexual purity.

When the relationship between God and us became perverted, the relationship between men who represent Christ Jesus, our Lord, and women who represent the church, God's children, became perverted, too.

The remedy, I propose, for rampant homosexuality in our society is to return to the true worship of the true God.
